About The Designer

Mary Edwards has been involved in quilting for 35 years. She was self taught at an early age but had produced only a few quilts at that time. Then she established Mary's Creations in 1983 in order to design sweaters for retail stores. In 1995, Mary began quilting with friends at her church and caught the quilting “bug”. She had the bug so bad that she purchased a longarm quilting machine in 1997 and began her business of finishing quilts for others.

Mary became the Production Assistant for Quilt Central TV in 2001. Her work can be seen on series 100, 200 and 500 - 700 as Production Assistant. Mary became Line Producer for series 800 & 900. Mary Edwards’ patterns have become a household name and have been used in many Quilt Central shows.

Mary appears in show 108, demonstrating a “Stained Glass Wall Hanging” using Warm Company — Steam-a-Seam 2 and Glass Beads. In another show (404), she demonstrated her 'Patterns For Pet Lovers "Pillow" Pattern' with Janie Donaldson. In show 506, Mary and Cindy Walters demonstrate how to do “Pockets For Holding Whatever Your Heart Desires — Flower Paper Piecing” pattern. In another show, Mary and Janie Donaldson demonstrated how to do the “Four Seasons Fall Oak and Acorn” pattern on the Pennywinkle Machine Quilting System for domestic sewing machines. These can be seen on show 513. In 606, Mary showed how to make the “Log Cabin Lone Star”. In 908, Mary showed items to Cindy Walter and Janie Donaldson that would aid a visually impaired and physically challenged person in quilting or sewing. In 909, Mary demonstrated pattern “Blooming Blocks” which is both pieced and quilted on a longarm machine at the same time. She taught at Quilt Expo 2005 “Quilted Window Treatments” and she had a booth in 2005 and 2006. Her teaching skills are very user friendly and Mary Edwards’ passion for quilting and teaching is evident in her work. She is constantly thinking of ways to make quilting enjoyable for others.
